2011 Fun-O-Rama & Fair:
The parade is back!
GABA requested a grant from the Hazelwood Neighborhood Association of $750.00.  We received $350.00.  Still asking for another $750.00.  Parade fees were quoted in the thousands of dollars, but have been lowered to $350.00 for this year which includes street closings.

Fred gave much detail regarding parade and community fair.  111th square to sponsor community fair at no charge.  Fred gave much detail regarding the David Douglas Music CD, and updates.  David Douglas CD has been professionally edited, and could not be completed without the direct help of Dean’s company, Wholesale Printing USA.  David purchased $50.00 worth of CD’s in cash, of the limited edition of 500 CD’s.  Any business purchasing 10 or more CD’s will have their name published in local news.
Lee Powell to be the next GABA President.  Possible two year term.  Lee asked Fred Sanchez to be the Vice President with Dawn Rasmussen to be secretary.
Gateway Strategic and Vision planning:

Dawn Rasmussen has done excellent work with the GABA Strategic Planning.  Some late nights work.  Really great work, Dawn.  The plan is a very detailed plan of both retaining members, and growing members while expanding GABA’s significance.

Lively discussions followed; and not all GABA Board Members will be continuing in 2011, and some board members terms are nearly complete.

Lee Powell said:  “We have a goal to outgrow Izzy’s in 2011!”

Meeting adjourned 7:20pm.

Editor’s note:  A very nice meeting.  Wish more members could see what is being done to help them gain more attention to their businesses.
