GABA June 17th, 2009 Board Meeting Minutes
ATTENDANCE: AJ Prasad, Carl Stein, David Panichello, Karen Montez, Lee Powell & Lou Fontana. (Dawn Rasmussen & Alan Sanchez – Excused Absence).
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by President, AJ Prasad at 11:05am.
BOARD MINUTES: It was moved to accept the May 2009 Board Minutes, seconded and approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT: The Meeting Minutes for May are pending approval. Computer issues in regards to lightning storm. Karen to email to Board for approval as permittable. It was moved & seconded to pay invoice to Clay’s Trophy’s for $1,424 for National Night Out. Discussion regarding initial set-up payment to Wholesale Printing USA/Dean Wiest for NNO ~ F-O-R flyers. 2-3 new members have joined (paid) GABA.
GENERAL MEETING SPEAKERS & MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: PDC has confirmed as July 9th’s Key Speaker. Future speakers of consideration include Hannah Martine of Wholesale Printing USA & Amanda Fritz for November 12th. No meeting scheduled in August. Lou (OBRH – Parkview Christian Retirement Community) graciously volunteered to host Christmas Holiday Social. Lee nominated David to oversee food & beverage for the Holiday Social; seconded and approved.
FUN-O-RAMA ~ NATIONAL NIGHT OUT: Lou provided flyers (Wholesale Printing USA) to review ~ very nice! Lou provided up-to-date details as Fun-O-Rama ~ National Night Out approaches, August 15th. Approximately 25 volunteers from Chapel of Chimes, Snow Cap, Salvation Army & Loaves & Fishes to assist. Flag Ceremony scheduled for 9:30am as kick-off to festivities. Live music totaling 8 hours confirmed. Lou outlined a schematic review of all activities, timeframes and oversight for our heralded GABA event!
PUBLICITY: Lee & AJ working to distribute flyers using various means to local community. Keystone Kop presence, uniform updates and additional volunteers discussed as the Keystone Kop is GABA’s trademark for Fun-O-Rama representation.
SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE: Calls to past sponsors. Sponsorship Letter to members for donations involving trophies, banner placement and general recognition discussed.
NEW BUSINESS: New business consists of gearing up for NNO ~ F-O-R on August 15! Sponsorship opportunities, flyer distribution (publicity), GABA vendors & volunteers are on the continuous agenda for an anticipated celebratory GABA event.
MEETING ADJOURNED: Meeting adjourned at 12:30pm.
